Hello! I am Dr. Marisa Soski, but I prefer to go by Dr. M. I was first introduced to natural medicine at a young age when my mom would refer to Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Phyllis Balch to address health concerns in our family. I was fortunate to grow up in a house that valued healthy food and eating vegetables! With my grandmother and mother as inspiration, I developed an enthusiasm for food, nutrition, and cooking that started in high school and has continued and blossomed throughout my life. When it came time to choose a career path I sought to find something that combined my passions for helping others, social justice, and nutrition. While completing my undergraduate degree at San Francisco State University (SFSU) I was introduced to Naturopathic Medicine and immediately changed my trajectory towards a profession in the healing arts. I graduated from SFSU in 2013 with a Bachelors of Science in Human Physiology and a Minor and Certificate in Holistic Health Studies and continued on to the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, OR to pursue my new found dream of becoming a Naturopathic Doctor.
During my time at SFSU I developed an interest and passion for cancer care after seeing the lack of treatment options that focused on the health of the individual beyond direct killing of cancer cells. I became dedicated to providing more holistic options to help cancer patients find true healing. This passion continued during my time at NUNM and I became president of the Oncology Club and the Student Alliance for Integrative Medicine in addition to attending other oncology focused extracurricular activities. In 2019 I graduated from NUNM with a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and Masters of Science in Nutrition. After graduation I went on to complete a two year residency at Sage Cancer Care in Portland, OR. In 2022, after much hard work and dedication, I became a Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology (FABNO), which designates me as a providing the highest level of naturopathic care to cancer patients.
I currently see patients in-person at Matrix Wellness in Boulder, CO and see telemedicine patients in a multiptude of states including California and Oregon. Additionally, I am adjunct faculty at San Francisco State University in the Holistic Health Department and the University of Western States in their Masters of Nutrition program. In my free time I loves cooking meals with my friends and family and spending time in nature. Check out my YouTube channel for cooking tutorials!
